Recorded in December of 2016, this interview with historian and author Robert Broughton is the most in depth discussion ever of an infamous era in West Tennessee crime.
We discuss how a West Tennessee Sheriff named Buford Pusser became a symbol of 'heroism' because of a movie.
'Walking Tall' reached millions of people over two generations with its glamorization of one of the darkest periods in West Tennessee history.
I lived it day by day at that time in my life.
The whole story is here warts and all.
Take the time to listen to this show however you can.
Listen to it in one setting or break it up in chunks...either way this is the real deal.
I have always considered John Kilzer to be one of the greatest lyricists in songwriting history.
This show is a fantastic example of exactly what I am talking about.
In addition to some incredible songs, this show goes deep into the life changes John went through to get to the life he lives today.
Music, memories and magic...that's what this show is all about.
Here is an early example of why Bill Way's show stayed #1 for more than 24 years. It clearly defines the 'I don't know what's coming next" style that Bill perfected.
This show was recorded in 1995 on the day AFTER the O.J. Simpson case came to an end with a not guilty verdict. The commentary on the show that day has proven to be right on target for sure.
You'll hear calls from a variety of people from Miss Willa at her best to the late and legendary Jack Knepp.
The interview with Delbert McClinton is one of very few that he has ever done. It will take you deep inside the mind of a unique performer who has been more successful than he will ever admit.
Recorded in 1998, this extraordinary show about the Delacardos and how it all began features Judge Christy Little and her husband Steve. You'll hear songs and inside stories about the group who performed for 33 1/3rd years. The magic moment came when rock legend Carl Perkins called. Unfortunately it was the last time I ever talked to Carl after years of interviews on both radio and television.
I'll never forget this day.
And neither will you if you take the time to hear this remarkable show..
Here's my conversation with one of the biggest stars of the 70's...KC of KC & The Sunshine Band. From record store employee to superstar he told it all when we talked in 2013. It's a truly amazing story of rags to riches and everything in between.
With the release of the self-titled second album KC and the Sunshine Band in 1975 came the group's first major U.S. hit with "Get Down Tonight". It topped the R&B chart in April and hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in August. "That's the Way (I Like It)" also became a number one hit in November 1975 and the group did well at the 1976 Grammy Awards. The 1976 album Part 3 yielded two number one singles: "I'm Your Boogie Man" and "(Shake, Shake, Shake) Shake Your Booty". Another hit, "Keep It Comin' Love", peaked at number two. Their success lasted until the fifth album; their last chart topping hit was "Please Don't Go" in December 1979, hitting number one for one week in January 1980, and becoming the first number one hit of the 1980s.
Here is the final show Norbert Putnam and I did on Dec. 16, 2007.
That was the day Dan Fogelberg died.
Norbert's involvement with Fogelberg made music history.
Norbert's memories of one of America's most talented singer/songwriters defines the magic moment when major talents combine.
Great songs. Great singer. Great memories.
That's what this show is all about.
In my 30+ years doing talk radio this interview with a guy named Josh Wadley affected me more than any show I have ever done.
It’s brutally honest.
It’s heartbreaking in places.
It’s a story unlike any you have ever heard before.
Some elements of this show, especially the section about drugs, may be very upsetting. If drugs have affected you in any way, from personal use to enduring the trials of a family member, this show definitely WILL change your life.

I rate this conversation among the very top of all of the interviews I have ever done. From the day Duane Allen founded the Oaks he has seen everything you can imagine in the show business world. Find out how The Oaks got Merle Haggard his first Dove Award for gospel music. Hear the show life way down deep from the touring life to why the Oaks had to go pop after a lifetime in gospel.
